Why It Matters
K-9 units enhance the safety of both law enforcement officers and civilians. Their presence can deter criminal activity, and their skills can help track and apprehend suspects more effectively. Community support for K-9 units ensures law enforcement agencies have the resources to keep the community safe.
Police dogs are highly versatile and can be used in various situations, such as search and rescue operations, locating missing persons, detecting illegal substances, and apprehending dangerous suspects. Community support allows K-9 units to maintain a high level of effectiveness across a range of law enforcement activities.
MakING a Donation
Supporting K-9 units through donations is an investment in a safer future for communities. By providing the necessary resources, training, and equipment to these specialized units, donors are actively contributing to a more secure and protected environment.
Donating to K-9 units demonstrates a commitment to community safety, respect for law enforcement, and appreciation for the invaluable services provided by these highly skilled and dedicated police dogs and their handlers.
Donations can aid in covering medical expenses and contribute to the well-being of retired police dogs as they transition to civilian life.

Our Story
My name is Evette Szajna, and my husband, Mark Carr, grew up in Warren, MI. We currently reside in Clinton Township, MI. I have owned a business in Mt. Clemens for over 23 years and worked for local police departments as a matron and dispatcher. I was also a cadet at a local college and have had many family members who were in law enforcement. My husband has worked for Ford Motor Company for over 25 years and is currently a toolmaker. He also has had family members in law enforcement.
We have donated and sponsored other K9 Units in Georgia, Florida, and other states over the past 5 years and saw their success. We were inspired to create an organization in our community to be an additional resource to help cover the cost of equipment, training, or other needs.
We aim to build an organization to assist as many K-9 units starting with Macomb County and reaching beyond when called upon.
